I joined Global Light Ministry in Dec 2006 through a special programme named, the Zoe Convention. I got born again in high school, but always felt that there was something more in the Christian life than what I had experienced.
When I went for the convention, I really didn’t know what I wanted to be or what I wanted to do with my life, I had no definite plan for my life. All I knew was that I wanted to have a good job that would make enough money for me and my family to live comfortably. I had never imagined that I would even join a university.
I didn’t quite understand much of what was taught during the two day convention, but I knew it was what I had been looking for. I went again and again and soon enough, the impact of the Word of God began to show in my life.
Meanwhile, I received my High School K.C.S.E. results and my dad asked me what course I wanted to pursue. I told him that I wanted to go to college to pursue a finance course. My dad asked me whether I would attend university on a parallel programme. On this response, I was surprised because no one in my family had been to the university and it had never occurred to me that it was a possibility for me. Furthermore, I wondered how my parents would manage to pay my school fees considering how expensive parallel university programmes are.
Even so, I went and applied for a finance course in a particular university and I was accepted. By the time we were supposed to report, we only had ksh 5,000 out of the Ksh 85,000 that was required. The University had a policy of not taking in students with outstanding fees on their first admission. Therefore, before I reported to school, I went to my man of God seeking school fees. I thought that perhaps he would boost me with some money or give me a scholarship. However, he gave me words of faith. He told me that I had the fees.
I reported to school with the Ksh. 5,000 and after being taken from office to office, the administration declined my registration. I went back home that day and as I was about to sit and cry, I remembered my Pastor’s words and instead burst out in tongues.
Hardly had I spoken tongues when my phone rang. It was my dad calling. He informed me that the management called him saying that they had changed their mind and I was allowed to begin my classes with the Ksh. 5,000.
I began classes and appeared on the register even though it was against the school policy to have it on the register with my outstanding fee balance. By exam period, I had only paid Ksh. 55,000 in total and had an outstanding balance of Ksh. 30,000. To date, I don’t know how that balance was cleared, but I know it was God who worked it out. The rest of the semesters passed by and though there were still challenges with my fees, the words that my Man of God gave me, carried me to the end. By the time I cleared campus, the university actually owed me Ksh. 20,000 as fee overpayment.
I thank God for bringing me into contact with my man of God. The testimonies are numerous, but to summarize it all, the word of God is at work in my life. Through the Word that I have received from GLM, I have become a master over circumstances. I do not know what it means to worry because God’s Word is very alive and real to me and as I apply it, all my challenges are taken care of. My life has had a total overhaul, a complete uplift! The Word of God that I have received through my man of God, has completely improved my life! Indeed, the Word works!!
I’m currently the cell coordinator of the ministry, overseeing all the cells. Other than that, I’m serving my country in a public office, putting the skills acquired in university at work.
