All Expenses Paid

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said ‘it is finished’; and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost (John 19:30)

The Christian life is an ‘all-expenses-paid’ life. When you are invited to go on an ‘all-expenses-paid’ trip, you just need to present yourself. You can go without any pocket money, because you will not be required to pay anything. You have no business worrying over where you will sleep, or what you will eat, or how you will settle any of your bills, because it’s all taken care of. You have no financial obligations on the trip; you are free to go about the business of the trip without caring about expenses. If it’s a seminar, if it’s a match, if it’s a holiday, you can focus on it fully, without cares or distraction. Why? All your expenses are catered for. The Christian life is pretty much the same, only on a grander scale.

The death of Jesus Christ on the cross is the guarantee that all the expenses for your life have been paid. In the opening verse above, Jesus declared that ‘it is finished.’ He wasn’t talking about the vinegar that he had just taken, no. He was talking about sin, about bondage, about everything that had separated God and man. He meant that man’s debt had now been fully paid, and now man could be restored to a perfect relationship with God. He meant that man could now live the God-life once again. He meant that all the expenses for everything that any man would ever need in life had been paid. Now men could live a free life, even a care-free life, by accepting this payment that he had made on their behalf.

Once you accept the Lord Jesus as your savior, you join an ‘all-expenses-paid’ life. Everything that he paid for on the cross immediately becomes available to you. Life in abundance becomes your portion. You become entitled to all things, because Jesus paid for all things. You are now free to concentrate on the affairs of life without a care. You don’t worry about sin, or about provision, or about death, or about anything. You don’t worry and you don’t fear. You simply do not. You walk in the consciousness that everything has been taken care of. You live a full life today, and take no thought for tomorrow.  No matter what circumstances you face, no matter what hardships you face, you confront everything with the consciousness that even that God has taken care of. There is a good ending to it, because Jesus has paid for everything you need to overcome.

If you are not yet born again, you can receive the ‘all-expenses-paid’ life today. If you receive Jesus into your heart today, he will come in with everything that he purchased for you on the cross; righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. He will bring you life and peace, health, prosperity, everything that you need for life and godliness. He paid all the expenses for your life by his death on the cross; now he wants you to accept it and appropriate it in your own life and for your own benefit. Will you?
